Sync Mode

MOOZ's built-in tools (player, metronome, piano) allow you to synchronize your sound and your student's sound when working with them.

The most important rule before starting!

Perform microphone calibration to achieve synchronous sound. Microphone calibration is a microphone setting that allows you to achieve synchronous sound. Both you and your student must complete the calibration. To calibrate the microphone, click the Sound button and make sure the microphone you want to configure is selected, then click the Microphone Calibration button and follow the setup as described in the instructions.

Important! During the calibration process, there must be complete silence in the room.

Where is it located?

The synchronization mode control is located on the left music panel, at the very edge.

How does it work? Very simple!

You control the synchronization in the lesson yourself by choosing on whose side it will play. To do this, you need to select the Teacher mode - you sound synchronously, or the Student mode - the student sounds synchronously with the player, metronome, piano.

By switching between Teacher and Student modes, you switch the synchronous playback from the teacher to the student and back.

Audio Player + Synchronization Mode:

  • Teacher Mode: Your voice or your instrument's sound is synchronized with the audio track. The student hears you playing or singing along with the track, exactly in time.
  • Student Mode: The student is synchronized with the audio track. You hear the student playing or singing synchronously with the track.

Metronome + Synchronization Mode:

  • Teacher Mode: Your voice or your instrument's sound is synchronized with the metronome. The student hears you sounding synchronously with the metronome.
  • Student Mode: The student is synchronized with the metronome. You hear the student sounding synchronously with the metronome.

Piano (Virtual/MIDI Keyboard) + Synchronization Mode:

  • Teacher Mode: Your voice is synchronized with playing the virtual piano or connected MIDI keyboard.
  • Student Mode: The student is synchronized with playing their virtual piano or connected MIDI keyboard.

What to do if there is no synchronization? (The most common problem)

Problem: You or the student cannot hear each other in time with the music.

Most likely reason: One of you has not completed microphone calibration.

How to calibrate the microphone?

To properly calibrate your microphone, follow the instructions within the application. It's important to note:

  1. Correctly select your devices: Speakers / Headphones / Bluetooth headphones / Headset.
  2. Ensure you are in a quiet place.
  3. Set your device's volume to maximum.
  4. Make sure your microphone is close to the speaker.

Do I need to calibrate the microphone every time?

You only need to complete the calibration once on a new device. If you do not change your headphones or microphone, recalibration is not necessary.

I can't hear the student in sync with the audio player, metronome, or piano.

Please make sure the "Student" mode is enabled. If the issue persists, ask your student to recalibrate their microphone by following the video guide. This should allow you to hear the student in sync with the player, metronome, or piano.

Important: Unfortunately, real-time accompaniment using the virtual piano is not possible due to internet latency. Instead, use audio files with vocal/music exercises. You can upload them to the player and hear the student in sync with the audio file.
