How to Connect a MIDI Keyboard

This is a special feature for connecting your real electronic piano, synthesizer, or MIDI keyboard to the program. You will then be able to play on it, and the sound will come through the lesson – clearly and without delays.

Important condition: This feature only works in the computer program.

Where is it located?

You can see the MIDI keyboard icon above the virtual piano, in the top left corner.

How to connect? Step by step:

Connect the device to the computer

  1. Find the button in the program.
    • In the music panel, above the piano layout, find and click the **"Connect MIDI Keyboard"**button. It is located above the virtual piano on the screen.

Prepare the equipment

2. A window with a prompt will appear on the screen.

3. Take the cable from your music device.

4. Connect one end of the cable to the music device, and the other end – to the port on your computer.

  • If you want to connect a new music device, all steps will need to be repeated from the beginning.

Complete the connection in the program

5. In the same window on the screen, click the large "Connect" button.

  • If the connection is successful, proceed to work.

  • If something goes wrong and the connection does not occur, check all the steps above for correctness and repeat.

All set! Now, when you press the keys on your piano, the sound will come through the MOOZ program, and all keys will be displayed on the musical piano.

Achieving Synchronous Playback

The Sync Mode is designed for the perfect synchronization of backing track, metronome, or accompaniment playback between teacher and student, allowing them to play together without delays.

How to achieve synchronous playback?

The application provides two separate modes for this: "Teacher" and "Student". For the function to work successfully, the correct mode must be selected on both sides.

Switching the mode is done using key combinations: Alt + S (Student) and Alt + T (Teacher).

For comfort, you can use hotkeys:

  • Switch to MIDI mode: Alt + V
  • MIDI connection arrow: Ctrl + Alt + V
  • Change octave: Shift + / Shift -
  • Pedal: Spacebar
  • Piano hotkeys

If using hotkeys is inconvenient for you, this feature can be completely disabled in the settings menu.

The most important things to know:

  • You do NOT need to install anything additional. The program itself will "see" your piano as soon as you connect it with a cable.
  • After connection, your instrument will work with all the sounds and functions of the virtual piano in the program.
