Screen Sharing
This is a feature that allows you to show the student everything that is happening on your monitor. You can show the entire screen, just one program (for example, a music notation editor), or a single browser tab.
Where is it located?
This function is located on the bottom toolbar, to the left of the center.
How to start screen sharing?
- In the bottom panel of the lesson, find and click the "Share" button.
- A selection menu will appear. Choose "Share Screen".
- Next, you need to decide which specific screen you want to show.
- Entire Screen: Show everything on your monitor.
- Application Window: Show only a specific program window (e.g., MuseScore, Finale).
- Browser Tab: Show only a specific tab from your browser.
- Select the desired option and click the "Share" button.
- After this, the student in their window will see what you are showing them instead of your camera feed.
How to stop screen sharing?
- Move your mouse cursor to the top of the screen, to the small control panel.
- Click the red "Stop Sharing" button on it.
- As soon as you stop sharing, the student will see your camera image again.
How to share screen with sound?
When selecting a screen to share, activate the "Share sound" toggle.
If the toggle is enabled but there is no sound, follow these steps:
- Check your selection: Ensure you have selected the correct window/tab/monitor to share.
- Verify system settings: Confirm that your system's sound settings allow screen recording.
- Update the app: Update the MOOZ app to the latest version.
If these steps did not help, please contact MOOZ technical support via chat.
The student's audio cuts out during screen sharing with sound.
This is expected system behavior, related to how screen sharing with sound operates.
How it works:
- When sharing the screen with sound, MOOZ transmits the audio stream from your computer.
- When the teacher or student starts speaking, the system automatically lowers the volume of the shared audio.
- This is done to ensure the speaker's voice is heard clearly without background interference.
This is not a technical malfunction, but a deliberate mechanism to ensure high-quality sound during the lesson.
Screen sharing is laggy
This issue is usually related to insufficient internet connection speed or high device load.
Solution:
- Check your internet speed:
- Recommended speed: at least 25 Mbps for both upload and download and the ping should be below 100.
- Check at speedtest.net.
- Optimize your connection:
- Use a wired connection (Ethernet) instead of Wi-Fi.
- Close unnecessary applications and browser tabs.
- Disable your VPN if you are using one.
- Additional steps:
- If the problem persists, check your device's performance.
- Ensure your computer has sufficient RAM.
- Update the app to the latest version.
